ABSTRACT: After the political changes in the former Soviet Union, the ports in East European harbours are facing a lot of problems. Since 1995, the EU-funded projects like AMCAI and DAMAC-HP try to improve this situation. In 2001, a new project has been started which is called BALTPORTS-IT. This paper provides an overview about the targets and results of the BALTPORTS-IT project.
