ABSTRACT: The paper deals with the simulation-based method of analysis and improvement of logistics processes in the container terminal at the Port of Gdansk (Poland). The Process Simulator provided by the University of Ulster and substantially developed by joint efforts of UU and Warsaw University of Technology has been used to perform a series of simulation experiments aim at support of decision-making process in Gdansk Container Terminal. The real-life data of the terminal have been fed into the simulator and the obtained model has been validated through comparison of its results with the operational data of the terminal. The model built has been used for further simulations to check the scenarios for future development of the terminal. The recommendations have been presented to the terminal management.
