Gianni Cantice Award for Gifted Simulation Students

The Simulation Team Members organize the Gianni Cantice Award for Gifted Simulation Students. The Gianni Cantice Award Winner is announced during incoming I3M as best simulation student(s) among the applicants. The Gianni Cantice Award is entitled to Col.Cantice as recognition for his long activity in Simulation.

Deadline: The Master and PhD students interested in applying need to submit their application, available on the web site, to Dr.Marina Massei (massei@itim.unige.it) before September 10 .

Requirements: Students (e.g. engineering, mathematics, physics, simulation, computer science, architecture, etc.) enrolled in Simulation Researches in Institutes, Universities & Agencies are entitled to participate. Students from all countries are invited to send R&D Papers & Applications. To Participate you need to send an email to massei@itim.unige.it including: Application: There are two different possible ways to apply for the Award:
  • Submit your application directly to the Award Committee including your Poster Paper in the Email to Dr.Marina Massei.
  • Submit your application using as Technical/Scientific Paper a Manuscript already accepted and registered for I3M Conference or WAMS Workshop.
The application should include Form, Resume, Advisor Letter, Technical/Scientific Poster Paper.
In case the paper is sent only to Gianni Cantice Award for Gifted Simulation Students (massei@itim.unige.it), the application is totaly free; please note that these papers will not be published in Conference Proceedings, even if they will be available on I3M archives.
As alternative the application could refer to a Paper already submitted and accepted for I3M Conference or WAMS Workshop; in this case the Paper will be published in I3M Proceedings as usual, upon the completion of the Registration and Payment of the related fee.
The submitted papers should be original or in publications within I3M (i.e.EMSS,DHSS,IMAACA,HMS,MAS,IWISH) or WAMS.
The application could be perform by a single student or a team of students; therefore, if a team win, the award will be assigned to the first author of the paper and he will be responsible for distributing it among the others.


Registration: NO FEE is required to submit application to Gianni Cantice Award for Gifted Simulation Students.
Student are not required to attend I3M Conference to apply for Gianni Cantice Award, even if, obviously, their participation and registration are welcomed.

Paper: The paper should address Innovative M&S providing elements to the Committee to evaluate the technical skills of the candidate.

Rules: The applications of the students will be evaluated based on the Curriculum Vitae and the Submitted Paper.
The Gianni Cantice Award Committee selects the Winner, please note that his decision is final and unquestionable.
The Paper should be original or in publications within current edition of I3M (i.e.EMSS,DHSS,IMAACA,HMS,MAS,IWISH) or WAMS. The applications could be submitted by a single student or a team of students; therefore, if a team wins, the award will be assigned to the first student author of the paper and he will be responsible for distributing it among the others. No advisors or teachers should be awarded and handicaps could be applied in case they are listed among the authors. It is responsibility of the Student(s) to deliver the material to massei@itim.unige.it and to verify proper delivery of the material, as well as to provide correct references for being contacted and for receiving the Award.

Gianni Cantice Award: The Gianni Cantice Award Committee selects the winner based on his final and unquestionable decision. The winner receives a chèque sponsored by I3M Organizers and/or the opportunity to visit an International M&S Lab. Gianni Cantice Award Committee will also attribute "Certificates of Appreciation" to all valuable papers able to pass selection process based on their final and unquestionable evaluation; all these papers could be presented as poster papers during I3M Conference. (the I3M Organization will make them available in I3M archives and will print as posters during I3M).
