The Program of the worksho is full as it is evident from here. During the day it will be distributed also a basic Virtual Reality Headsets that will work with the demo version of ALACRES2 for smartphone; you are invited to download it directly from here, pleae note that the software works only with Android 8.0, or more recent, and requires a mobile phone with a gyroscopic system (70Mb) ; the system allows you to observe a virtual port seeing the spheres corresponding to safety and security zones, equipment and ships (moving the head you see the objects in 3D, but in the demo it is not possible to move). It is possible to access freely and to register to the event by a simple click here.

In the afternoon, between 2:00 pm and 5:30 pm, the Steering Committee and the Project Planning activities of ALACRES2 will take place
Summary of the ALACRES2 Project
The ALACRES2 Project (Advanced Service of Laboratory for Crises and Emergencies in port in the Upper Tyrrhenian cooperation area, based on Simulation), with a value of 2 Million Euro funded by the Interreg Maritime Program of the European Community, is in fact coordinated by the Simulation group of Prof.Agostino Bruzzone of the University of Genoa and involves prestigious Institutions with the objective of creating and activating a permanent laboratory capable of identifying, testing and validating integrated emergency management procedures in the case of incidents and crises within port areas.
The ALACRES2 Laboratory will use the most sophisticated Simulation, Virtual & Augmented Reality techniques using the new MS2G (Modeling, Interoperable Simulation & Serious Games) paradigm to support the behaviors of the different operational figures called to manage emergencies, testing new behavioral protocols, new standards operations, new emergency monitoring and control procedures, new support technologies for on-board infrastructure and systems. In fact, the aim is to create a service for the definition of unequivocal management protocols both for organizations and for personnel, capable of supporting the development of operators' skills in emergencies in one of the weakest and most critical conditions of the supply chain, precisely where there is the physical discontinuity due to the passage in Ports from Sea to Land and vice versa.

Ports and Simulation
Immersive and Interactive Simulation
Simulation based on the MS2G Paradigm allows today to guarantee maximum Immersiveness and Interactivity in reproducing complex port and marine scenarios. Over the years, the Simulation Team has developed interesting interoperable solutions that employ M & S to support decisions, train and evaluate new infrastructural procedures and solutions.
ALACRES2 reiterates the concept of the Extended Maritime Framework (EMF) developed by the Simulation Team of the University of Genoa, which considers the marine context in the different domains that influence it (ie the surface of the sea, the underwater world, the sky, the coast, cyberspace and space) ; in this way we will construct models that consider the different elements and active systems and their interactions in the face of crises and disasters, including also the human component. Disasters and operational scenarios will be defined with particular attention to the needs of Operational Partners to maximize the impact on the territory and the fallout of research into concrete results that increase safety in the marine environment.
