The Applications in Business, Management, Planning & Logistics Track seeks contributions on R&D (research and development) in business, management, planning & logistics.
These work areas present us with complex and critical issues now facing us in the world.
Environmental issues, healthcare concerns, workforce development and global economics provide new challenges as well as new opportunities for improving markets and products as well as supply chains, while new technologies are enabling advances in re-engineering processes and networks.
So, while globalization of the markets is accelerating, the evolution of Business, Management, Planning & Logistics as well as our social, economic and environmental framework, requires us to deliberately develop new interoperable models for sustainability for very broad usage over a long timeframe.
Web technologies enable data sharing among highly dispersed teams and over wide areas as well as remote tracking and control of design, purchasing, production, supply and shipment of products and services.
These introduce possibilities for innovation in which M&S technology is necessary and critical for supporting planning, design, testing, operations and evaluation.
The Applications in Business, Management, Planning & Logistics track provides a leading forum bringing together researchers and practitioners from many different simulation societies and sectors.
By involving diverse contributions from a variety of disciplines and application areas, the conference will promote sharing of innovative ideas and the development of new proposals and partnerships as well as facilitate research options leading to valuable enabling technologies and applied simulations.
Importantly it will also solicit novel solutions to complex problems and grand challenges.

The conference solicits technical papers whose topics and applications include, but are not limited, to the following areas:

Author Guide:

The conference committee will accept papers submitted as a PDF file to the conference website.
Final version of all the papers MUST COMPLY with the SCS conference format.
All the submitted papers will be peer reviewed with respect to their quality, originality and relevance. The authors of the accepted paper MUST register in advance for inclusion of their paper in the conference proceedings. Each paper must include the title, authors, affiliations, addresses, references and summary for proper positioning in the conference. Only original papers, written in English, which have not been published previously elsewhere will be accepted. Please indicate which conference topic is most appropriate, listing first and second choices.

Final Paper Submission Guidelines:

Please note that in case of acceptance your final manuscript will need to be submitted electronically as a PDF file to the conference website by camera-ready deadline to guarantee inclusion in the conference CD and final program. Authors of accepted papers are expected to attend the conference, present their work to their peers, transfer copyright, and pay a conference registration fee at the time their camera-ready paper is submitted. All selected papers will be included in the conference proceedings and archived in digital libraries.

Please note the following deadlines:

  • Special session proposals: November 31, 2009
