In May 2003 Liophant Simulation Club established the Liophant Football Team involving students from Genoa and Alessandria University. This Initiative was an idea of Federico Figini, commander of the team based on his international experience in ICAMES2003. The Liophant Football Team original sponsors have been BRB Studio, Mindrevolver.com and Sportart Savona.

Liophant Team lays the Foundation Stone on Savona Campus Football History
Finally, after over 10 years, today 22 june 2005, the soccer playfield of Savona Campus is back in action!
Inaugural Opening was based on a four team Trophy where Liophant had opportunity to excel and conquest the CUP.
It is the first edition of Savona Campus Trophy and Liophant have won this football's ultimate prize, cementing their status as the most successful team in the history of the Campus.

The team participated in CSI2005 a Regional Football Cup involving 21 teams and placing itself 4th on the final rankings; the Liophant Football Team was composed and coordinated by a mix of Engineering Students operating in Genoa University.

Liophant Football Team is Building up a Tradition in Savona Campus Football History
This year the Savona Campus Trophy involved 8 teams, Liophant results were really impressive: 7 victories over the 8 matches devoted to identify the first four teams for the final games.
Liophant won semifinal 2-0 against "La Squadra di Jack", while the final game was confirming the Liophanters as Campus Champions: Liophant 3 - Gli Ingordi 0
It is the second edition for Savona Campus Trophy and Liophant have won this football's ultimate prize two times in the row now, confirming their status as the most successful team in the history of the Campus.

The Liophant Football Team was completing a great set of games during 2007 Savona Campus Throphy, without loosing a single match... just the final for first and second place was unsuccessful: after pairing in regular and extra time on the penalty Liophant was unlucky. However after two first place in the row (2005, 2006) 2007 was the time for a silver medal in this competion even if the team was playing good football demonstrating his skills.

The Liophant Football Team established a Female Equipe in 2007; The Equipe was divided in two teams that resulted in First and Second place during the first Female Football Cup in Savona Campus during the 2007 autumn. The Equipe get a new "livrea" similar to Liophant Football team white shirt. A special game was run between Male and Female teams for establishing this new initiative during late 2007.

The Liophant Football Team won the 2008 Savona Campus Trophy for the third time and they used the new Black Suites. The Victory was celebrated in a Campus Party.
